- Coverage of the 3.2 liter engine is sparse and sometimes incorrect. Trying to cram a pretty wide range of model years into one manual makes it kinda hard to follow at times. There is a lot of jumping around based on your model.
The newsprint pages tear easily and the pictures are super hard to see as a result of the low quality printing. Pretty much what I've always known of these manuals, but.. I wish I could spend an extra $10 and get it printed on better paper with better quality pictures. - I would not have purchased my used audi if I did not have access to a Chilton. These repair manuals pay for themselves and have detailed explanations on repairs. The most useful part was the maintenance schedule. If you download the Audi maintenance schedule it is a joke all it says it's "check fluid", "check brake pads", there is no replacement interval for coolant or gearbox oil, not even the fuel filter. This manual includes everything. If you would like for your engine to last over 200K miles you need one of these
- i need to replace valve gasket. this book had NO torque specs for valve cover... had to call chilton. he only had the haynes manual and insisted specs were there. i had to read each category before he believed it wasn't there. then he manually gave the torque spec.
there's no location for oil pressure sensor. to check pressure, it says "locate sensor, remove and screw in tester"! duh! i'm not sure where the sensor is and neither is chilton... had to google it. - Gives basic instructions and good ideas but not very thorougher.
- Great book for anything you need to know about the B6 Audi model
- A little generic, but answers most if not all questions I have. Beats buying the Bentley version for $100
- Fast and as described. Chilton manuals are great.
